About Stephen Ullstrom
Winner 2014 Purple Pen Award

Stephen Ullstrom wrote his first index in 2011 while working in-house for Harbour Publishing. He later completed the indexing course offered by Simon Fraser University, and has since been a freelance indexer. Born in Toronto, Stephen grew up in Taiwan, graduated from the University of British Columbia with a BA in Creative Writing and Political Science, and currently works from Vancouver, BC.
 
He won the 2014 Purple Pen Award for his submission:  Strange Visitors: Documents in the History of Indigenous and Settler Relations in Canada from 1876, edited by Keith D. Smith and published by University of Toronto Press.
